Teacher, Rebecca Shanhun

Teacher, Rebecca Shanhun started dancing at the age of 5 in Queensland, Australia and has been dancing ever since.  She studied various dance styles including classical ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theatre, drama and vocal production also completed examinations in Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Commonwealth Society of Teacher’s of Dancing (CSTD) achieving advanced levels in both syllabi.  She also participated in Competition teams, competing in solos, duos and group pieces and was involved in touring production teams.

She has had experience in working in pantomimes, musicals and performances, both on-stage, choreographing and behind the scenes.  She has choreographed for various theatre companies and schools in various musicals including Fame, Crazy For You, Guys & Dolls and Beauty & The Beast. 

She has also been involved in various model works, hair and make-up conventions and make-up artist workshops.

Rebecca has completed her Bachelor of Creative Industries majoring in Dance and Creative Industries Management at QUT which included performance skills, lighting and sound techniques, production skills, child psychology, child health, business management and before this she extended her dance training by studying dance fulltime at Danceworld 301 in Melbourne.  

Rebecca also has a Certificate in Community Sport/Recreation and is an affiliate member of the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD), regularly entering students through exams and competitions.  

She regularly travels throughout Queensland, Australia to choreograph, also travelling overseas to keep up with modern dance techniques, and thoroughly enjoys watching the children that she teaches explore all the fun that dance has to offer.

Teacher, Carly Mackelvie

Teacher, Carly Mackelvie graduated from SLP College, Leeds with a distinction in Musical Theatre.

During her time at college Carly completed all her advanced exams in Ballet (Cecchetti and RAD), Modern (IDTA and ISTD) Tap (ISTD and IDTA), whilst at college Carly also achieved her Associate Of The London College Of Music (ALCM) Carly has been teaching and choreographing professionally in London for 5 years in and out of her performing career Theatre Credits Inc: Sylvia in Stepping Out (Greenwich Theatre/Manor Pavillion) Siu in Three Little Pigs (Greenwich Theatre), Boy Meets Boy (Jermyn Street), Milkshake Live! Prior to leaving England Carly has co-produced Vision Accomplished Productions which has successful cabaret nights at The Battersea barge in London's West End. 

Teacher, Joanna Montague

   Teacher, Joanna Montague’s love for dance and music was apparent from an early age. She started dancing at the age of 4 in London, learning dance styles such as tap, jazz, disco and contemporary. Her love of music soon grew to include playing the clarinet and bass clarinet at the age of 7, where she toured across Europe – France, Italy and Switzerland.

During her time at college, Joanna completed her exams with a distinction in both Contemporary Dance and Music. Throughout her dancing career she has performed at various venues including, London’s Royal Festival Hall. At the age of 16 she became a Dance Teacher at a school in London. Following The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus, she regularly helped students through their exams. After five years of teaching, she set-up and managed her own dance school for both children and adults. She regularly entered students into competitions and organised dance shows in support of local charities. For the last three years she has been training at Pineapple Dance Studios.

Prior to leaving the UK, Joanna was a digital marketing professional, juggling a full-time job and her dancing career. Here in Singapore, she is now living her dream of being a Dance Teacher and has rediscovered her passion for music. 

Teacher, Karrie Dene

Teacher, Karrie Dene began dance at an early age and knew early on that a stage career was for her! She started to live her dream when she was accepted into "London Studio Centre", the England equivalent of New York Performing Arts college. Here she studied all aspects of dance, drama and musical theatre. She appeared in many musical productions, as well as acting roles as Belinda in "Daisy Pull It OFf" and Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet". Karrie obtained a Diploma in Performing Arts upon graduation, having reached Advanced levels in Ballet, Jazz and Tap dance. During her years at college Karrie was employed as a teacher for the junior associate school attached to the college, students ranged from ages 5-12 years old. After leaving college, she worked professionally as a dancer and model, in various productions and commercial work throughout Asia and continued to teach dance around the region. Upon arrival to Singapore, Karrie was employed by various establishments to choreograph for their in-house entertainment programs working with international and local bands. She also taught at Pre-school education facilities, introducing kids to music and dance. She is also head dancer and choreographer for an International Performing group that is based n Singapore and do shows across the region. Karrie is also a fully certified Polestar Pilates and Gyrotonic instructor.

Teacher, Sharon Sum

Teacher Sharon graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts BA(Hons) Musical Theatre, First Class Honours where she studied various dance styles such as ballet, tap and jazz. The theatre bug first bit Sharon when she joined her school’s Drama club when she was 13. She enjoys how theatre has allowed her to expand the human experience and looks to bringing that experience to her audience. At LASALLE, Sharon has acted in The Caucasian Chalk Circle directed by Valeria Campo, The Taming of The Shrew directed by Stefanos Rassios and Daily Life Everlasting, a self-devised piece based on Charles Mee’s play of the same name directed by Adam Marple. Her musical credits include The Wedding Singer, The Pajama Game, Little Red Riding Hood in Into The Woods directed by Andrew Davidson and Fraulein Kost in Cabaret directed by Adam Marple and choreographed by Broadway star Nikki Snelson.
